The Huskers came back from a 23-point deficit to put the game in overtime, only to see their quarterback Tommy Armstrong throw an interception that put Hurricanes in position to kick the game winning field goal.
"The fact of the matter is (Miami) started faster than we did.They outplayed us defensively and offensively right off the bat," said Nebraska coach Mike Riley. "That got us into a big hole, so we were not in any kind of attack mode on either side of the ball and they were."
In another tight race for ACC Team of the Week honors, the North Carolina Tar Heels are the runner-up for the award, after a dominant 48-14 win of the Illinois Fighting Illini. The Team of the Week is for games played from September 17 through September 19.
