“I am definitely disappointed right now,” Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson said. “I am mostly disappointed in myself, to be honest.”
Golson had a very solid outing by completing the game with 313 passing yards and three touchdowns.
The Florida State offensive line had issues handling the pressure and for the most part, the Irish did a better job of controlling both sides of the line of scrimmage. The Seminoles only garnered 50 yards on the ground while giving up six tackles for loss to the Irish.
Winston's 273 passing yards and two touchdowns plus his weapons in the receiving unit, Rashad Greene and Travis Rudolph, were largely what helped FSU pull off the win. Greene and Rudolph continually pulled off clutch plays, hauling in a score apiece.
"It was a great privilege to coach in that game. It really was," Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher said post game. "When you coach college football, you dream of coaching in games of teams of that magnitude, that tradition, that history. And to go out there and just go toe-toe, have a slug fest and be able to play in a game like that, it was a true privilege to coach in that and a true privilege to coach the players I'm coaching."
The Florida State winning streak has extended to 23 games dating back to the 2012 season.
