Florida State improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in conference. Both starting quarterbacks in the game had good outings, with Florida State senior Everett Golson tallying 372 passing yards and three touchdowns while Louisville freshman Lamar Jackson passed for 307 yards and three scores. Noles running back Dalvin Cook had a big game with 163 yards and two TDs on the ground.
“Very proud the way we competed in the game, finished the game. Took a lot of steps forward,” said FSU coach Jimbo Fisher. “Not as many red zone issues we had the week before. Played very hard and cleaned some of those up. Third down very good, taking air out of the ball, defense stood up, again, played a very good game.”
The North Carolina Tar Heels are runner-up for the award, after 50-14 against Wake Forest. The Team of the Week is for games played on October 17.
