Georgia Tech forced three interceptions with defensive backs Jamal Golden and Chris Milton returning two of them for touchdowns. The Clemson offense was held to 190 total yards including just 59 passing.
"Certainly, Clemson is probably the most talented team we've played to date," Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson said before the matchup.
Tiger freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson was back for the game, but was sidelined with another injury late in the first quarter.
The Yellow Jackets are usually not known for their passing game, but senior receiver DeAndre Smelter was given the ACC Football Player of the Week honor. Smelter had five catches for 77 yards and a touchdown, Tech's first score on offense for the game.
Georgia Tech linebacker P.J. Davis received ACC Football Player of the Week recognition as well. The sophomore Davis led both teams in tackles with 13.
The Florida State Seminoles are this week's runner-up after a nail-biting 30-26 win over their rival the Miami Hurricanes. The 'Noles now have 26 consecutive wins.
