With road wins, 73-70 at the Florida State Seminoles (14-12) and 80-72 at the Syracuse Orange (16-9), Duke captures the honor for consecutive weeks and the third time overall this season.
“I thought defensively we broke down in the second half… They're a tremendous basketball team,” said Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim.
Duke guard Quinn Cook had a remarkable stretch while being named ACC Player of the Week and leading his team to be chosen as the TOW. Cook averaged 21.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game in the two victories. He also was an iron man, playing all 40 minutes in both outings.
After a 51-47 loss against the Virginia Cavaliers followed by a 74-64 win at the Louisville Cardinals, the NC State Wolfpack are the runner-up for the Team of the Week. The voting for TOW was close as NC State was just two points behind Duke, while Pittsburgh and Virginia came in only two shy of NC State.
