The No. 2 Blue Devils achieved the honor after two ACC victories to close out the season, 94-51 versus the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (13-18) and 84-77 at the No. 19 North Carolina Tar Heels (21-10).
Duke players garnered multiple post season honors. Freshman Jahlil Okafor racked up the awards with being named: ACC Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and All-ACC First Team, as determined by ACSMA. Senior Quinn Cook and freshman Tyus Jones are all-conference second team and third team recipients respectively. Duke also stacked the All-ACC Freshman Team by with three players: Okafor, Jones and Justise Winslow (All-ACC Honorable Mention).
The Louisville Cardinals (24-7) are the runner-up for Team of the Week. The No. 14 Cardinals finished the season with a 71-59 loss against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (26-5) and a 59-57 upset win over the No. 3 Virginia Cavaliers (28-2).
